Screen printing has had a lot of advancement in technologies that allow for better details and more vibrate designs that what was possible five to 10 years ago. However, that doesn’t mean the technology is perfect. You want to avoid items like ribbed clothes, canvas materials (aprons, bags, etc), burnout tees, and polos. This is because these items are not as smooth as a standard t-shirt, and so can have issues when attempting to print a design.

Colors To Avoid

Not every color works the same when printing, especially when using discharge ink. The colors that don’t work so well are kelly green, red, royal blue, lapis, cobalt, purple, teal, and turquoise. If you want to use these colors you want to try and avoid lighter colors like white and yellow, as they will get influenced by the shirt color underneath.
